Bedtime at our house

February 29, 2016

Most books I try to read this girl (who refuses to let me get more than 2 hours of sleep at a time) at bedtime get this reaction…

But Curious George gets the royal treatment of sharing her water :). She loves Pat-a-cake with George and gives him kisses!

Thankfully her brother is so thankful to read two books together and happily goes right to bed…. He’s the only one who gets 8+ hours straight of sleep each night.

Tonight rather than actually reading words to the little Miss A, I took the advice of some amazing fellow foster mommies and played her some Christian music while she drank her milk which she conked out to in our rocker!!  This is a huge step from her normal routine of forcing me to walk around carrying her until she passed out.  No sitting or laying down allowed with this cutie!  I do not have my strong momma arms yet and so she wears me out quickly with this method.  It brings so much joy to my heart to have her passed out in my lap snoring 🙂 It’s the small victories and precious moments that keep me going when this emotional journey seems overwhelming and I wonder if I can really do this.

I am SO blessed to finally have my own momma here tonight to take over the night shift so I can finally rest for a night and regain my strength to get back to work this week.  I pray she allows “Grammy” to calm her through the night when she awakes.
