Before and Afters…

Before the renovations, the great room had carpeting with oak trim and oak built-ins.

The renovations of the great room included:

  • new click-and-lock hardwood flooring
  • new wall base trim
  • painted oak built-ins with Paint du Coco Pebble Beach Chalk Paint
  • gold fireplace trim painted with heat resistant black spray paint

The curtains and rods are from Ikea and I use them all over the house since they are classic white and machine washable.  Couch is Ikea’s Ektorp loveseat and chaise in Blekinge white, which is amazing with kids and dogs because the slipcover is washable.  The swivel chair and the ottoman are also slipcovered pieces from Arhaus.  I have had the chair for over seven years and it still is in great shape after multiple washes.  Rug is from Ikea as well, but I can’t find it online (but it is around $150).

The lamps and adorable dog bed were all finds from Home Goods.  Pillow cases are from Ikea and Potterybarn.

The wing back chairs are family antiques that I recovered with drop cloths from Home Depot and added trim from an online fabric store.  Since I do not sew I had the cushions recovered by Designer Fabrics in Littleton.  I will try to post another blog on that project.
